Fire sparks concerns at vacant Detroit apartment complex
A vacant apartment complex on Greenfield near Six Mile has become a flashpoint for loitering, illegal break-ins, and drug use and neighbors say city cleanups aren't solving the underlying problem. Detroit's city council and mayor's office are both involved, with outreach teams visiting the site multiple times a week, but residents who've breached the building have repeatedly refused offers of shelter and services. The city has filed two lawsuits against the property owner, who officials say remains non-responsive.
