Auburn Hills to add nearly 200 downtown parking spots after businesses report losing customers

Downtown Auburn Hills is getting close to 200 new parking spaces after business owners and residents said a lack of convenient parking was costing them customers. The city plans to convert a lot along Auburn Road into 131 spaces and another on Primary Street into 43. The city manager said downtown's rapid urban growth, combined with spots taken offline by construction, has made convenient parking harder to find.
