Focus: Hope expands its Detroit mission from fighting hunger to building careers

Focus: Hope has spent decades feeding Detroit families. Now it's also helping them build futures. The nonprofit's job training program is teaching students like Alana Buchanan manufacturing skills, robotics, and welding, giving people a first shot at a new career. Focus: Hope President and CEO Portia Roberson said the program places graduates in living-wage jobs and, according to her, changes the course of their lives.
