A suspect was arrested after allegedly setting shopping carts on fire outside E & L Supermercado in Southwest Detroit as employees prepared to open the store. The fire, which occurred early Monday morning, was quickly extinguished by firefighters, with no injuries reported and no damage to the building’s interior. Investigators cited video evidence as key in locating the suspect, and community members emphasized the store’s importance as a neighborhood staple.
