Paris-to-Detroit flight diverted to Montreal after CDC Ebola order

An Air France flight from Paris to Detroit was unexpectedly diverted to Montreal after it was discovered that a Congolese passenger, subject to new U.S. entry restrictions due to Ebola concerns, was on board. Passengers, including Mike Reed, endured a seven-hour layover and uncertainty about the situation before the flight was allowed to continue to Detroit. The Congolese passenger was discreetly removed from the plane in Montreal, and officials confirmed there is no evidence the individual tested positive for Ebola. The incident follows a recent CDC emergency order restricting entry for most non-U.S. citizens who had recently been in the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, or Uganda.
