LAKE EFFECT SNOW

In addition to subfreezing conditions, neighborhoods near Lake Huron may see significant lake effect snow as the wind direction shifts.  A more northerly wind will pick up water from the big lake, which is remains mostly unfrozen, and dump it in the form of snow in communities like Port Huron.  A Lake Effect Snow Watch will be in effect for Sanilac and St. Clair Counties from late Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

FORECAST

Very little relief from the cold is in sight through Sunday, and more snow may be on the way.  Thursday will be sunnier, but highs will barely make it to 20 degrees.  Afternoon temps will creep into the 20s Friday and this weekend.

A new storm system moving through the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies Wednesday may arrive in Michigan Friday.  Local 4 Weather's computer models still differ, but Detroit's next chance of accumulating snow is on Friday depending on the storm's size and track.  At least, 1 to 2 inches is projected for now.
