Community kicks off fourth season of ‘Walk a Mile’ Wednesday in Detroit White told Local 4 what he learned during Wednesday’s walk
DETROIT – Walk a Mile” Wednesday kicked off its fourth season in Detroit .
Detroit police Chief James White was out walking with the community and department members on Wednesday (May 1).
The event took place at the Ann Arbor Trail Magnet Middle School, a hub of community activities located on Chatham Street.
The walks are a tradition for Whites as they allow them to connect with the community and hear what’s going on in the city.
White told Local 4 what he learned during Wednesday’s walk.
“I learned on a walk that people love this community,” said White. “It’s still a very beautiful and vibrant community. They wanted to talk a lot about the NFL draft and congratulate us on a successful draft and talked about the great work by the Detroit Police Department.”
White was asked for an update on the Naziyah Harris case .
He said there was a briefing on Wednesday, and he is preparing to announce more about the case soon.
