High temps well below average Sunday afternoon

DETROIT – Spectators and participants of Detroit's Nain Rouge will need to dress warmly Sunday afternoon. The mercury will rise only to the middle 20s, which is over 20 degrees chillier than average. Skies will have a healthy amount of clouds, but the sun will shine through from time to time. 

Sunday evening will have fair skies with temps falling to the teens by midnight. 

Sunday night will be frigid, again, with partly cloudy skies and overnight lows in the middle teens. 

Monday will be partly to mostly sunny and cold with temperatures 15 to 20 degrees below average. Afternoon temps will be in the low 30s. 

Tuesday will have a chance of snow that will push Motown closer to the season snowfall record of 93.6 inches of snow in the 1880-1881 winter. Highs will be near 30. Wednesday will be partly sunny with highs closer to 40 degrees. Thursday and Friday will have a chance of rain, but temps will be near 50 degrees.
