DETROIT – Snow returns for the last weekend of the 2015 Auto Show. Sunday will be snowier then Saturday.

Please join me on Twitter (@AndrewLocal4) for regular weather updates.

Saturday morning will be mostly cloudy and chilly with temperatures in the middle 20s. A weak cold front will bring a few scattered snow flurries and light snow showers around dawn. Any families coming to the last Saturday of the auto show should be careful on the roads and bundle up before heading out.

The Detroit area catches a break from any snowfall during the middle part of the day. During the afternoon, some scattered flurries and light snow return. Total accumulations for the day will be minor; less than 1 inch. Highs will be in your 35°.

Saturday evening will be great for ice-skating and other outdoor winter activities. Temperatures will fall back to freezing. Drivers need to be cautious for re-freezing on roads and highways.

Saturday night will be cloudy and chilly with temperatures in the middle and upper 20s. A new round of snow is on the way due to a clipper, but it arrives after dawn, Sunday.

The heart of Sunday's clipper will dive south of Detroit and Southeast Michigan, and that means manageable amounts of new snow. Most of the region will see up to 1 inch of accumulation. Areas far west and south of Detroit, in Washtenaw, Livingston, Lenawee and Monroe Counties, will see 1 to 2 inches or slightly more. Regardless of amounts, motors must still exercise caution.

Colder air swoops in early next week. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will see high temperatures barely up to 20° or slightly more. Night time and morning lows will range from the teens on Monday morning to single digits Monday night, Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. Wind chills will be near zero or even less.
