Metro Detroit weather forecast: Very mild Monday, stormy night ahead

Highs near 80

DETROIT – A cloudy and mild start to your Monday with temps in the upper 50s to low 60s as you head out and about.

We were near record highs Sunday in Detroit and the warm weather continues as highs will hit the upper 70s to near 80 degrees for some this afternoon under partly sunny skies. The winds will kick up later this morning SSW 10-20 mph gusting to 30 mph at times. Our storm chances increase this evening and a few could be on the strong side. Right now, most of SE Lower Michigan is under a Marginal Risk for severe storms tonight with concerns of damaging winds and hail after 7pm.

A few morning showers possible Tuesday, but most of the wet weather will be moving on leaving us dry during the daytime tomorrow. Temps will not be as warm as a cold front moves through keeping us in the mid to upper 50s and partly sunny most of the day tomorrow.

We should see some great weather midweek with sunshine Wednesday and temps near 40 degrees in the morning and into the upper 50s through the afternoon. A few more clouds Thursday, but dry and mild with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Look for warmer air to move back in Friday and Saturday with a chance for showers on Saturday. We’ll keep you posted as we get closer.
