Metro Detroit weather: Temps warming to 60 degrees

DETROIT – Clouds are clearing this morning as a cold front sweeps through and morning temps will be dropping into the upper 30s for many to start your Wednesday.

Beautiful sunshine will help us warm up to 60 degrees around Metro Detroit and slightly cooler numbers in our North Zone. The winds will start cold from the NW 5-15 mph and relaxing into the afternoon W 5-10 mph. Skies will begin to fill with high clouds late afternoon or evening ahead of some heavy rain coming in tomorrow.

Rain will overspread SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario Thursday morning and could bring minor flooding concerns for some. Model predictions call for 1-3” of rain tomorrow as Gulf moisture feeds in throughout the day. It will turn breezy as well ENE 7-17 mph, but the rain will be the headline tomorrow. High temps will be on the cool side into the low 50s at best under clouds and rain.

More shower chances on Friday and Saturday, although they will be hit or miss and we should also see some sunshine periodically. Highs will only be in the low to mid 50s when the sun sneaks out and the winds will be cranking both days WNW 10-25 mph. Calm weather returns Sunday and the breezes will keep kicking, but it will look and feel nice for a while as we end the weekend.
