Winter Weather Advisory issued for Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Sanilac, Lapeer and Genessee counties. (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – A winter weather advisory has been issued for several counties in southeast Michigan for Thursday, Feb. 16. This advisory will take place from 10 a.m. Thursday through 4 a.m. Friday.

The following counties are issued the advisory: Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland and St. Clair.

Here’s your 4Warn Weather forecast for Wednesday evening and Thursday:

Winds are howling all day Wednesday! They will start to relax this evening and tonight, but winds will still gust to near 2-30 mph at times.

What you can expect on Thursday

  • Winds are still kicking as well, gusting over 30 mph.
  • High-resolution models coming into fairly good agreement that we’ll get a little bit of everything around here Thursday. This is looking like an afternoon and evening event, so the drive home Thursday will be tricky.
  • The best chance for rain is closer to Lake Erie, falling with the onset of the precipitation in the early afternoon.
  • Mostly everyone will see some freezing rain during the afternoon, with some ice accumulations looking possible.
  • As colder air filters in, snow looks to take over after about 8 p.m. from west to east.
  • In terms of accumulation, both ice and snow will be possible.
    • Up to 1/10″ to maybe 2/10″ of ice will be possible.
    • Snow accumulations will be highest to the north/west. A trace of snow near Lake Erie to near 2″ near Flint and Lapeer.
