Wet, windy weekend with touch of wintry weather in Metro Detroit

Snow showers possible over weekend in Southeast Michigan

A system will spread rain into Southeast Michigan beginning this Friday afternoon. The rain showers will continue into Saturday, but cooler air will give us the chance of a few wet snowflakes. (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – We are expecting wet and windy weather this weekend, and it starts on Friday.

It will be cloudy to start our Friday, but the rainy weather is returning. Rain showers will start moving into Metro Detroit in the afternoon with the approach of a low-pressure system.

Afternoon temperatures will rise into the lower 50s. Winds will be out of the east-southeast at 5 to 10 mph. The rain showers will continue at night with mild lows in the lower to mid 40s. Winds will be out of the south at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday

Saturday will be wet and windy. We will have scattered rain showers early and a slight chance of showers during the day. The chance of rain and snow showers will develop in the evening. Winds will be out of the north-northwest at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Highs will be in the lower 50s in the morning, but temperatures will drop noticeably by the evening. Lows will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s.

Sunday

Sunday will be blustery with a few snow showers, especially over the Thumb, on the backend of the system. Highs will be in the upper 30s to 40 degrees. Winds out of the west-northwest will be 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

The normal high temperature through the weekend is 43 degrees, and the normal lows are 26 to 27 degrees.

Next week, Southeast Michigan will have temperatures back into the 60s.
