Tracking rain, snow St. Patrick’s Day weekend: What to know for Metro Detroit

Sprinkle, flurry chances this weekend, next week

4Warn Weather – Friday begins with cloudy skies in most of Southeast Michigan. The clouds will decrease throughout the day.

Highs will be in the lower 50s. Northerly winds will move at 7-14 mph.

Clouds will continue to decrease as skies become mostly clear on Friday night. Lows will be in the lower to mid-30s. Winds will be out of the northwest, moving around 5 mph.

Cloudy skies to give way to partly cloudy conditions this Friday afternoon over much of Metro Detroit. Expect highs in the lower 50s. (WDIV)

Rain chances Saturday

It will be mostly cloudy and breezy on Saturday.

Highs will be in the mid- to upper 50s, but winds will make it feel slightly cooler. Winds will be out of the south-southwest at 10-20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph.

A few sprinkles will be possible in the evening as a cold front moves through the area.

Lows will fall to the mid-30s.

Snow chances Sunday

Snowflakes may kiss your face on St. Patrick’s Day this Sunday.

It will be mostly cloudy with the chance of a few flurries. Temperatures will be cooler with highs in the lower 40s.

Lows will be in the upper 20s.

The normal highs and lows for this weekend in Metro Detroit are 46 degrees and 29 degrees, respectively.

Sprinkle, flurry chances carry into next week

With cooler air in Metro Detroit, it will be mostly cloudy on Monday and Tuesday with the chance of sprinkles and flurries.

Highs will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s both days. Spring will officially begin at 11:06 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19.
