Friday: Partly cloudy skies, a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong to severe. High: 91. Heat index values into the mid to upper 90s to reach 100° expected.

Friday night: Partly cloudy skies. Low: 70.

Saturday: Partly cloudy skies. High: 85.

After a few days of showers and thunderstorms, accompanied by heat and humidity, we will continue to have a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast through the evening hours tonight and at the end of the week as well.

Some areas along and south of I-94 will be the focal point for the showers and thunderstorms this afternoon.

We will keep the chance of some strong or a few severe thunderstorms in the forecast through the mid to late evening hours tonight.

Once the thunderstorm is winding down, we will clear out some of the cloud cover overnight and into early on Friday morning. The overnight low is dropping into the lower 70s for everyone.

Looking ahead to the end of the week on Friday, we will continue to have some sunshine, along with heat and humidity, and chances for showers and thunderstorms in the forecast.

The Storm Prediction Center continues to issue a marginal risk (1 out of 5 on our severe weather scale) as we look ahead to the end of the week on Friday.

Damaging winds, excessive winds of 60 miles per hour, and heavy rainfall will be the primary threats with any thunderstorm that develops, starting around lunchtime, continuing through the afternoon, and into the evening hours.

We will also expect the heat and humidity to persist into the end of the week, on Friday.

High temperatures are expected to return to the lower 90s, but once you factor in the humidity, heat index values will rise into the upper 90s to near 100° by Friday afternoon.

Once the cold front clears the area late Friday night, we will be set up for a drier weekend ahead.

Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds both Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures will be cooler on Saturday, in the 80s, and will give way to more heat and humidity by Sunday.

Expect temperatures to rise back into the lower 90s by the end of the week.
