Shower, storm chances with heavy rain continue into Thursday for Metro Detroit

Thursday highs in lower 80s; Friday highs in upper 70s

Chances for showers and thunderstorms continue into Thursday, some could produce heavy rainfall (WDIV)

Friday: Mostly sunny skies. Cooler with below-average temperatures. High: 79.

After showers and thunderstorms produced heavy rainfall throughout the afternoon and early evening hours, we will continue to forecast a chance of one or two showers or thunderstorms, along with the threat of heavy rainfall, through the overnight hours and into Thursday.

Outside of that, expect the cloud cover to persist into the overnight hours, with a few breaks possible.

Overnight lows are dropping to right around 50° by early on Thursday morning.

We have a chance of some showers and thunderstorms in the forecast, looking ahead to Thursday.

Although we don’t expect the threat of severe weather, with the moisture still present in the region, we anticipate the potential for showers and thunderstorms to produce heavy rainfall.

High temperatures are expected to reach the lower 80s by Thursday afternoon.

High pressure builds in for the end of the week, with Friday expected to bring lots of sunshine throughout the day.

With high temperatures below average, we will not see the 80s by the end of the week, as most of us will reach the upper 70s by Friday afternoon.

Looking ahead to the start of the weekend on Saturday, most of the day is expected to be dry.

However, we anticipate a chance of showers and thunderstorms by the evening hours on Saturday and into the overnight hours.

High temperature is rebounding back into the lower 80s by Saturday afternoon.

We will keep the chance of a few morning rain showers in the forecast on Sunday, but other than that, expect cloud cover.

High temperatures are expected to remain in the lower 80s by the end of the weekend, on Sunday.

A mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected as we start next week on Monday, with temperatures remaining near the end of July levels, in the lower 80s.

Before mostly cloudy skies are expected, we will start to warm things up once again.

High temperatures are expected to warm into the upper 80s by the time we reach Tuesday.
