Southeast Michigan is getting an early taste of fall as many students are returning to school.
A weekend of showers and thunderstorms is ending on the same note. The scattered showers and thunderstorms, which are more likely near I-69, will mostly clear out by midnight.
Clouds will decrease overnight as lows dip to 50 to 55 degrees. Westerly winds will be 5 to 10 mph.
Monday’s highs will struggle to reach 70 degrees, which is more typical of late September. The average high for Aug. 25 is 80 degrees at Detroit Metro Airport. Expect mostly sunny skies in the morning and partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. A few rain showers will dampen Metro Detroit neighborhoods. Winds will be out of the west-northwest at 6 to 12 mph.
Monday night’s skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy. Lows will fall to around 50 degrees.
Skies will be mostly clear on Monday night, with temperatures falling to the upper-40s and lower-50s.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny in Southeast Michigan, with highs around 70 degrees. Conditions will be great for outdoor tasks, but mornings will feel crisp. Be sure to layer up. Lows will be around 50 degrees in Livonia and Royal Oak, but Ann Arbor and the Thumb will see lows in the 40s.
Temperatures will begin to slowly climb starting midweek. Under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, highs will be in the mid-70s from Wednesday through Labor Day Weekend. While conditions will be mostly dry, a couple of showers will be possible on Thursday afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches.
