Drier weather continues before healthy dose of rain, gusty winds move into Metro Detroit

Rainfall will increase in intensity with a strong frontal boundary by the end of the weekend

Rainfall increases in intensity and coverage by the end of the weekend on Sunday (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After plenty of cloud cover and an isolated rain shower on Wednesday morning, we broke out into some sunshine to end the day, and we will keep that sunshine in the forecast looking ahead into the next day or so.

The dry weather will stick around from Thursday into the end of the week on Friday.

Expect plenty of sunshine on Thursday, with a little more cloud cover working into the forecast by the end of the week on Friday.

This is in advance of our next decent chance of rain that moves into the region.

We will keep the cloud cover in the forecast as well as the chance for rain showers both Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will warm out of the 60s by the end of the week, reaching the low 70s by Saturday.

As of now, rain showers will persist throughout the day on Saturday, before the steadier and possibly heavier rain moves into the region. By the end of the weekend on Sunday, we’ll have made significant progress.

As of tonight, indications suggest we may see at least an inch of rainfall, possibly more.

In addition, we could see some gusty winds on Sunday to go with the rainfall. Winds could gust as high as 30-40 MPH by the end of the weekend with this strong cold front.

Drier weather moves back into the region behind the cold front for Sunday Night and into the start of next week on Monday.

Then once this next frontal boundary rolls through the region, we will see temperatures fall into the low 60s by the end of the weekend on Sunday.

And then things get even colder; expect high temperatures to drop into the 50s by early next week, on Monday.

We will keep a mixture of sunshine and clouds in the forecast, looking ahead to next Tuesday.

High temperatures are expected to moderate slightly, reaching the low to mid-60s by Tuesday afternoon.

After the rainfall for the weekend, my next chance of rain moves into the forecast by the middle of next week, on Wednesday.

Expect the clouds to increase on Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening, with rain moving in late Tuesday night and sticking around out of the middle of next week on Wednesday.

High temperatures are expected to remain in the low mid-60s by Wednesday afternoon.
