Cool night before fantastic end to weekend
Metro Detroit heads into a chilly night with lows dipping into the lower- to mid-30s across the region — about 35 degrees at Metro Airport and around 30 degrees in Ann Arbor and Sandusky. Clouds will decrease, and winds will be light and variable. Anyone with plans to be out late should be ready for a crisp night.
Standard time resumes
Before going to bed, do not forget that daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. That means we “fall back” one hour. Most phones and digital devices will reset automatically, but your oven, microwave, and car clocks might need the old-fashioned touch-up.
Sunday
Sunday brings a bright turnaround. It will be a fantastic fall day with mostly sunny skies and highs near 55 degrees. A light southwest breeze will pick up to around 10 to 15 mph. It is a perfect day to get outside, take down those Halloween decorations, or rake the leaves before the winds kick up again in the forecast.
If you are planning to tailgate ahead of the Lions-Vikings game, bundle up for a cool start. Temperatures will hover in the lower-40s at 10 a.m., warming to the upper-40s by kickoff at 1 p.m. under mostly sunny skies. By late afternoon, readings climb into the mid-50s — perfect football weather as fans cheer, “Go Lions!”
Sunday night’s lows will be in the upper-30s to 40 degrees.
Monday
A few morning showers return Monday, along with gusty west-northwest winds up to 35 mph. Highs will reach the upper-50s. Lows will dip into the upper-30s.
Looking Ahead
Temperatures will peak in the mid- to upper-50s through much of next week with more chances of rain Wednesday, Friday, and late Saturday.
For now, enjoy the extra hour of sleep, sunshine, and a classic fall weekend in Michigan.
