Rain showers and breezy winds to start the weekend in Metro Detroit

Drastic temperature changes move into the region by the end of the weekend

A few rain showers are in the forecast through the afternoon & into the early evening hours on Saturday (WDIV)

4Warn WeatherSATURDAY: Cloudy skies. A chance of a few rain showers in the afternoon and early evening hours. High: 64.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies early, decreasing clouds overnight. Low: 35.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny skies. Some cloud cover is expected in our Northeastern communities, with an isolated shower or snowflake with the colder air. High: 45.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies and cold. Low: 28.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny skies. High: 44.

After plenty of sunshine to end the weekend, we have brought cover in overnight last night and early this morning, and we will keep the chance of wind showers in the forecast, looking ahead into the start of the weekend on Saturday.

A strong cold front is moving through the region as we walk throughout the day, which will keep the chance of some rain showers through the afternoon and into the early evening hours tonight. Breezy winds will be expected as well, expect wind, gust, and excess of 30 to 35 miles an hour. High temperatures are well above average, into the mid-60s by Saturday afternoon.

Rain showers will wind down as we work throughout the early to mid-evening hours on Saturday, but the cloud cover will stick around as we head into the start of the overnight, before the clouds break up, leading to lots of sunshine, looking ahead into the end of the weekend.

Overnight low is much colder than we had working in early on Saturday morning, expect temperatures to drop into the mid 30s by early Sunday morning.

With high pressure building in, I’m expecting lots of sunshine for the majority of the region. The one exception to this will be in our northeastern tier of communities, where we may hang onto a little cloud cover and the chance for an isolated shower or snowflake, thanks to a northwesterly flow bringing in that colder air. High temperature is only heading into the mid-40s by Sunday afternoon.

We will keep the sunshine in the forecast to start next week on Monday, and the colder temperatures will be sticking around. High temperatures remaining in the low mid-40s.

Expect more cloud cover to move into the region as we go from Tuesday through Wednesday, thanks to a low-pressure center working south of Metro Detroit. As of right now, the forecast will remain dry as we look ahead into the middle of next week. High temperatures are expected to remain in the 40s both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rain chances return to the forecast by the time we get to Thursday and into the end of next week on Friday. Temperatures are just a few degrees warmer, and the upper 40s and lower 50s by the time we get to the end of next week.
