Intermittent snowflakes expected Saturday and Sunday (Unsplash)
DETROIT – Metro Detroit is experiencing a period of intense (and potentially record-breaking) cold currently -- but there may be some other winter weather on the way.
While the weekend will be mostly cloudy with a high near 30 degrees, there is a chance of snow.
A few flakes are possible intermittently from Friday night through Sunday.
Below-average temperatures persist this weekend and into next week.
Saturday and Sunday will continue with chances for a few snowflakes throughout the day.
Looking ahead, the next potentially impactful snowfall could arrive on Tuesday. Wednesday may bring a chance of a rain-snow mix, but it is still early and the forecast will be fine-tuned as we get closer.
