4Warn Weather – More snow is on the way for Metro Detroit. Snow moves in after 10 p.m. and continues until about 6 a.m., when most of Metro Detroit will see a changeover to rain.
Messy wintry Wednesday ahead
If you live in the northern parts of Metro Detroit, into the thumb, you will be under a Winter Weather Advisory starting at 10 p.m. tonight and lasting until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
This includes St. Clair and Lapeer counties.
Storm timeline:
- 10 p.m. - 6 a.m.: Snow, heavy at times
- 6 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Rain, wintry mix
- 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.: Snow and falling temps
The rest of metro Detroit will see more rain than snow in the morning, but as temps fall, some snow will mix in.
This makes predicting snow totals very difficult. But most areas will be between 2-4” with higher totals in the northern parts of the area.
Temps will fall in the afternoon as we will see the wintry mix turn back into snow.
Most, if not all, of the snow should be done before the evening commute.
