Sunny start to the week in Metro Detroit with rain, snow on the way

Breezy with above-average temperatures through Tuesday

Grab the sunglasses and winter coat as you head out today. Mostly sunny and breezy today with highs in the upper 30s. However, with gusts upward of 20mph, plan for the feels-like temperatures to be around ten degrees cooler than the air temperature.

Tuesday: Warmer with Rain

Tomorrow is the warmest day of the work week as temperatures warm into the low 40s Tuesday. There is a good chance of rain Tuesday afternoon and evening, so you will be trading the shades for an umbrella.

Wednesday: Cooler with Snow

The next chance of snow arrives Wednesday morning, off and on through Wednesday night as arctic air moves into the region. Model data allows for a bit of a rain/snow mix with the onset in the morning, but chances to flurries for the remainder of the day.

Rest of the Week/Weekend

Much colder through the end of the week. Do you have a backyard ice rink or lake you are hoping to skate on? If yes, then this cool snap is what you are looking for. Highs fall into the 20s Thursday through the weekend with overnight lows in the teens which will help both re-freeze in the days ahead. As always, don’t walk on a frozen lake with less than a 4-inch depth of ice.
