DETROIT – The off button on the snow machine appears to be broken. In all seriousness, the lack of moisture in the lower atmosphere paired with colder air and lake effect, is aiding in the creation of “dry,” light, fluffy snow. The flurries continue through this morning and early afternoon resulting in light accumulations once again. This could lead to slick spots on the roads.
It is a much warmer start to your Tuesday with temperatures in the 20s. However we don’t warm up much Today. Highs will be in the 20s and the cooler than average temperatures persist through Thursday before seasonal low-30s briefly return on Friday before a sharp weekend cool down.
The next best chance for accumulating snow arrives Thursday night through Friday. There is a solid chance for an inch or more of accumulation. Then arctic air returns for Super Bowl weekend with highs in the teens and lows close to zero.
