DETROIT – A few flakes linger in our northwestern counties this morning. Other than that, we remain relatively dry and quiet today. Highs remain ten degrees below average as we top out in the low 20s and feeling cooler with the wind chill.
Light snow returns later Thursday afternoon into Friday with accumulations generally 1-3 inches.
The bulk of the snow will fall late Friday morning and could be a heavier, wet snow as temperatures rise into the low 30s. As snow tapers off, the winds will pick up, gusting 30-40 MPH and driving much colder air back into southeast Michigan from late Friday into the weekend.
Wind chills of 10-15 degrees below zero are likely Saturday morning with highs in the teens. It will be a brisk start to the weekend before a warming trend occurs into next week.
