After stronger thunderstorms rolled through the region late last night, we are going to keep the chance of some thunderstorms into the forecast, which could be on the strong side of things looking ahead throughout our Saturday.
We’re tracking a strong cold front that will move through the region. By the time we get to late this afternoon and into this evening. Most of the region is starting off unseasonably warm on Saturday morning, and we will keep the unseasonably warm air mass in place to help fuel the thunderstorms as we head throughout the day.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire region under a Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather as we work throughout our Saturday. The primary threat will be gusty winds with thunderstorms as they roll on through the region by mid to late this afternoon. High temperature is topping out in the upper 60s to near 70° by the time the cold front rolls through this afternoon.
Once the cold front rolls through, we will keep some cloud cover in the forecast overnight tonight into early Sunday morning. But it’s high-pressure builds into the region, the clouds will thin out, and we will see plenty of sunshine as we work throughout the end of the weekend on Sunday.
Cooler air will work into the region. By the time we get to the end of the weekend, high temperatures will warm into the upper 50s, which is still well above average by the time we get to Sunday afternoon.
Expect the sunshine to stick around into the start of next week on Monday, and warmer air moving in once again. High temperature is warming back into the upper 60s by Monday afternoon, before rain moves back into the forecast, looking into the middle of next week.
Another swing in temperatures will move in by the time we get to the middle of next week, with the rain in the forecast, expect high temperatures to drop into the low 50s by Wednesday, then back to more seasonable values by the time we get to the end of next week. High temperatures will drop into the 40s Thursday and Friday, and while Dryer weather works into the region by Thursday, we are expecting a chance of rain and snow showers into the forecast by the end of next week on Friday.
