After plenty of sunshine and chilly temperatures to start the weekend, we will keep some sunshine into the forecast, looking ahead throughout the end of the weekend on Sunday.

We will keep some cloud cover in the forecast through the end of the weekend on Sunday, along with some sunshine, and the start of next week on Monday as well. But a southerly flow will start to warm things up over the next few days. Expect high temperatures to warm into the upper 50s by Sunday afternoon, then into the middle 60s by the time we get to Monday.

Rain showers will return to the forecast late Monday night, and we’ll also bring in the chance for a few thunderstorms Monday night and into Tuesday as well. That southerly flow will continue to warm things up by Tuesday. Expect high temperatures to go well above average, into the lower 70s by Tuesday afternoon.

With the cold front rolling into the region, we could see some stronger thunderstorms by the time we get to Tuesday. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire region under a Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) on our severe weather scale. As of right now, damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threats.

Once that cold front rolls through the region, we are looking at a series of disturbances that will roll through the region, keeping the forecast on the active side of things through the end of next week. Chances for rain will remain in the forecast Wednesday all the way through Friday, with high temperatures into the upper 40s and lower 50s into the second half of next week as well.

Looking ahead to the Detroit Tigers’ Opening Day against the Cardinals on Friday afternoon. Temperatures into the lower 50s can be expected, with a chance of rain showers in the forecast as well.

We’ll keep the chance of rain showers in the forecast looking ahead into the start of Easter Weekend on Saturday. High temperatures are warming up a little more again, back into the mid-60s by Saturday afternoon.
