4Warn Weather - An upper level ridge will shift eastward this coming week, bringing Southeast Michigan multiple very warm days.
You’ll want to enjoy Saturday evening with temperatures falling into the low 70s for later evening hours, then dropping to the mid 60s around midnight.
Overnight lows will be in the mid 50s to lower 60s with some clouds across the area.
Sunday will be slightly warmer with highs into the low to mid 80s.
Our normal high is 83°, so we won’t be too far off from where we should be for this time of year. We’ll see plenty of sun with an easterly breeze around 5-10 mph.
A stray shower could move through Southeast Michigan Sunday night into Monday, but most will stay dry with mostly sunny skies the majority of Monday.
Monday brings another step up in heat and humidity as temperatures across Metro Detroit reach the low 90s. The heat index will be closer to 100°.
Tuesday through Thursday will be even hotter with highs near, if not reaching, 100°. It will feel closer to 105° to 110° in the afternoons. Friday we’ll remain in the mid to upper 90s with a heat index of at least 100°. For each of these days Southeast Michigan will have a Major to Extreme heat risk.
We not only will be very hot during the daytime hours, but there won’t be a lot of relief from the heat at night.
Overnight temperatures throughout the workweek look to stay in the 70s.
Make sure to take proper precautions in heat like this - wearing lighter and loose clothing, staying hydrated, taking breaks in cooler environment, limiting strenuous activity during the peak heat of the day, and check on those who may be sensitive to the heat.
