4Warn Weather - A cold front moving southward across the state Saturday brought scattered showers and a few thunderstorms to the area. This front also shifted our winds to the northwest and north, helping to bring back some of the smoke we’ve seen over the past few days.
Think of the smoke Sunday as more of a middle ground - not as bad as what we had a couple of days ago, but skies won’t be as clear as they were today.
Smoke moves in this evening and overnight as temperatures fall into the 60s.
Winds will be out of the north at 5-15 mph tonight and tomorrow. This will help to keep skies smoky across the state, and an Air Quality Alert will remain in effect Sunday.
Air quality is expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category across the Lower Peninsula, including Southeast Michigan.
The Upper Peninsula will be in the Unhealthy category.
We’ll see hazy sunshine for the start of the week with afternoon highs tomorrow around 80° for most, slightly cooler for our northernmost neighborhoods.
We’ll continue to see some sun to start Monday, but you’ll notice increasing cloud cover throughout the day. This is ahead of the next rain chance, moving in Monday evening and carrying into Tuesday.
We’ll turn drier to finish the week with temperatures staying closer to normal for this time of year.
