4Warn Weather – Metro Detroit will enjoy at least one more tranquil night before a more unsettled weather pattern settles into Southeast Michigan during the second half of the week.
Tuesday night will remain mostly clear, with temperatures falling to around 60 degrees across much of the region.
Light winds and comfortable humidity levels will make for another pleasant night before warmer, more humid air begins moving into the Great Lakes.
Wednesday
Sunshine returns Wednesday, sending temperatures into the mid- and upper 80s.
As moisture gradually increases, some communities could see heat index values approach 90 degrees during the afternoon.
People may also notice a hazy appearance to the sky as a plume of wildfire smoke drifts through portions of the Great Lakes.
The smoke is expected to remain high in the atmosphere, limiting any significant impact on surface air quality.
Rain chances increase late Wednesday night as the atmosphere becomes more favorable for isolated showers.
The greatest opportunity for rainfall arrives Thursday, when periods of rain and a few thunderstorms are expected to move through Southeast Michigan.
Thursday
While thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening.
A few storms could bring downpours, but the overall threat of strong storms remains relatively low.
Friday
The unsettled pattern is expected to continue into Friday and through the weekend, but the rain will not be continuous, and some will remain dry.
That is good news for thousands of people planning to attend some of Metro Detroit’s summer events.
The Allen Park Street Fair, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, is expected to feature warm temperatures in the 80s, along with intervals of sunshine and occasional opportunities for scattered showers on Friday.
The Dearborn Homecoming Festival, taking place Friday through Sunday at Ford Field Park, faces a similar forecast. Visitors should be prepared for the possibility of a few showers.
By Saturday, sunshine is expected to become more widespread, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s.
Additional scattered showers and thunderstorms remain possible Sunday and into early next week as the broader weather pattern persists.
