4Warn Weather – Clear skies and comfortable temperatures will settle across Southeast Michigan Monday night as a stretch of quiet summer weather continues.
Temperatures will fall into the upper 50s and lower 60s overnight, with light winds and low humidity making for a cool and pleasant start to the day Tuesday.
The timing could not be better for Michigan voters.
Tuesday
Tuesday is Election Day across the state, and the weather will cooperate from the time polls open at 7 a.m. until they close at 8 p.m. and beyond. Sunshine will dominate the forecast as temperatures climb into the mid 80s across Metro Detroit. Communities across the Thumb will likely remain a few degrees cooler.
Wednesday
The calm weather pattern will hold through much of Wednesday, although clouds will begin increasing later in the day as the next weather system approaches from the west.
Thursday
A slight chance of showers arrives Wednesday night, and rain chances become more widespread Thursday as scattered showers and a few thunderstorms develop throughout the day. Periods of rain could slow down the Thursday commute.
Friday
By Friday, the system will gradually shift eastward, although a few spotty showers could linger into the morning, especially near the state line.
Temperatures will remain seasonably warm through the period, with afternoon highs generally holding in the 80s.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the forecast once again turns quieter, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures edging closer to the upper 80s.
After a brief interruption from late-week showers, summer heat appears ready to settle back into Southeast Michigan.
