Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible periodically from Friday night through Sunday, with many neighborhoods remaining dry while others receive brief downpours.
Friday night
The first opportunity arrives Friday night, when scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop between late evening and the overnight hours.
Although severe weather is not anticipated, the strongest storms could produce heavy rainfall and wind gusts approaching 40 mph.
Saturday
Another round of isolated showers and thunderstorms is possible Saturday afternoon and evening as a weak cold front approaches Southeast Michigan.
Forecast models suggest rainfall will remain unevenly distributed, meaning many communities may avoid the wet weather altogether.
Sunday
Sunday appears to be the most favorable day for outdoor activities, with abundant sunshine and temperatures climbing into the mid-80s.
Conditions will remain warm and somewhat humid, although the 4Warn Weather team will continue monitoring a developing storm system to the west.
Rain and thunderstorm chances increase Sunday night and become more widespread Monday as a stronger disturbance approaches the Great Lakes.
Monday
There is the potential for stronger storms Monday. Although uncertainty remains regarding the timing and location of the heaviest activity, the chance of strong thunderstorms looks to be more likely in the afternoon and evening.
Looking ahead
Additional opportunities for showers and thunderstorms will continue through the middle of next week as a cooler weather pattern settles into the region.
High temperatures will generally remain in the mid-80s through the weekend before slipping into the lower 80s during the first half of next week.
