Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Most
Rain moved in overnight, and we will see a gradual transition from west to east to a mix, and then to all snow by mid-to-late afternoon. Obviously, the farther west you are, the earlier the transition, the farther east you are, the later the transition. Temperatures during the day will be above freezing through at least mid-afternoon, so snow should mostly melt on pavement...but minor accumulation is possible on elevated surfaces, such as decks, patio furniture, mailboxes, grass, and cars parked outside. Most of our accumulation will be overnight Monday night into Tuesday morning. At this point, we are expecting 2 to 4 inches on the east side...tapering to 1 to 2 inches on the west side. Those of us in parts of the Thumb could see 4 to 6 inches. Check out my ultra-detailed article discussing this storm on ClickOnDetroit.com.
