Ann Arbor police investigate robbery at Speedway gas station

Suspect fled scene in dark-colored SUV

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Police are investigating a robbery at a Speedway gas station in Ann Arbor.

A hold-up alarm was activated at around 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at a Speedway gas station at 1300 North Maple Road in Ann Arbor.

According to police, when deputies arrived they were told the business had been robbed by an unknown adult man wearing a black ski mask. He implied he had a weapon and demanded the employee hand over money.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark-colored SUV. He was last seen driving east on Miller Avenue. Nobody was injured.

The suspect is described by police as an adult man in his 50s or 60s. He may have been between 5′9′' and 5′11′' tall.
