4Warn Weather – After hitting the mid and upper 80s Tuesday afternoon, southeast Michigan will see cooler weather midweek before warming again.
A cold front moving through the state brought scattered rain and thunderstorms to the area, but also opened the door to cooler air from the north, evident on the regional temperature map.
We’ll dry out tonight, with overnight lows falling into the low to mid-50s.
While we’ll see some sunshine, high temperatures tomorrow only reach the low 70s in most neighborhoods.
So how chilly is this for Metro Detroit? Our normal low this time of year is 65°, and the normal high is 84°. Seeing a low near 54° and a high near 74° is more typical of late May or mid-September.
We did see temperatures like this as recently as June 24th, and like last time, the cooler weather won’t last long.
Highs Thursday will be in the upper 70s with sunny skies. We’ll continue to see sun Friday, warming to around 80°, and keep going up from there.
Morning lows will be in the low to mid 50s Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.
The next best chance of rain for Southeast Michigan holds off until Sunday night into Monday.
