Second motorcyclist hospitalized with injuries

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A 27-year-old Ann Arbor man was killed on Friday, April 5, when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck pulling a trailer.

Authorities said the crash happened around 5:18 p.m. when two motorcyclists driving west on Packard Street stuck an eastbound truck as it turned left onto Fernwood Avenue.

The 27-year-old received severe injuries and was taken to Trinity Health Ann Arbor before dying, officials said.

A 21-year-old Ann Arbor man, the other cyclist, was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Police said speed is thought to be a factor in the crash.
