US Marshals join manhunt for ‘armed and dangerous’ Ypsilanti murder suspect

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Federal authorities have joined the search for an “armed and dangerous” man wanted on murder charges.

U.S. Marshals are working with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office to locate Daniel Lamar Franklin in connection with a March 26 shooting in Ypsilanti.

According to authorities, a 22-year-old man from Belleville was found shot to death in a vehicle near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Warner Street. Witnesses reportedly identified the shooter as Franklin.

Police said Franklin has a history of weapon offenses and is considered armed and dangerous. He stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 175 pound. He has a tattoo under his left eye.
