ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Ford Motor Company announced a major investment Wednesday.
The automaker plans to invest $200 million in a new wind tunnel complex in Allen Park. The complex will be built on 13 acres next to Ford's current Driveability Test Facility in the city.
Ford says the complex "will house new innovative technology that delivers state-of-the-art real-world driving simulations to advance improvements in fuel economy."
It will feature an all-new rolling road aerodynamic tunnel and a environmental simulation facility with airflow that reaches 200 mph.
Construction is set to begin later this year.
