Firefighters rescue hitchhiking kitten in Sterling Heights after 30 mile free ride

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A little hitchhiker was rescued last week by firefighters after squeezing himself into the frame of a truck and taking a 30 mile trip from Livonia to Sterling Heights.

Firefighters found the kitten under the frame of a Chevy Silverado and were able to free the feline by using a duck net and a stick.

The Sterling Heights Fire Department said the kitten is in “remarkable sound condition for going on the ride of his life.”

The kitten was taken to the Sterling Heights Police Department’s Animal Control.
