Organizers say the 15 students will present original interpretation poems on the theme “I Dream Detroit.” Pistons owner Tom Gores, team Vice Chairman Arn Tellem, the Detroit Pistons Foundation and Aetna Better Health are providing $50,000 in higher education scholarships.

The competition is in partnership with The Future Project which aims to inspire students to discover their power in building a better future.
