MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – There’s a new twist in the ongoing struggle to hire workers.
Some Metro Detroit bar and restaurant owners claim they are being used by people looking for work, but don’t want the job.
Steve Howcroft owns Augie’s Bar and Grill in Madison Heights. He said interviews are set up and then emails or texts are used as proof that the resident is looking for work, but they never show up for the interview.
Howcroft said he’s wasting time setting up interviews that never take place.
