Promote the Vote works to keep Michigan voters safe on Election Day

Organization promotes safe voting at polling locations

DETROIT – Election Day in Michigan is Tuesday, and some voters are uncertain about the atmosphere at polling locations.

To ease the minds of voters, various organizers from Promote the Vote came together at the Detroit Hispanic Headquarters in Corktown to show voters how to safely cast their votes.

“We have done everything we can to make sure this election is safe,” said Branden Snyder, the executive director of Detroit Action.

Snyder, other group members, and community partners are focused on making sure everyone can safely make their voice heard. With many donations, Detroit Action brought in more help this year to provide a safe environment for voters.

If anyone experiences voter intimidation or harassment on Election Day, they’re encouraged to call 1-866-OUR-VOTE for help.

Residents can vote in-person Tuesday, and absentee ballots are still welcome but must be dropped off at an official dropbox. Click here to find the closest location.
