ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – After the frenzy of the last few months, there’s no doubt we’re all a bit burned out from politics.
My dear readers, you might be yelling, “Christy, please! Not another election story!”
I get it – especially with the many candidate visits, tv ads, mail flyers, early voting reminders and social media posts that clogged our brains for so long.
But we’re taking a breath to put our vote in context, give it a little perspective and look forward to what this means for Michigan in 2025.
I’ll be heading to Oakland University to wrap up our Decision 2024 partnership with the Center for Civic Engagement this Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. to talk about the biggest take aways from this election.
What will policy change in Washington mean for us in Michigan? How about GOP control of the state house? What role did polling or legacy media outlets play in our vote? Will debates ever be the same?
There’s a lot to think about, analyze and assess. And we’ll do it with Center Director and Political Science Prof Dave Dulio along with his colleague Associate Professor of Political Science Nicole Asmussen Matthew.
If you can’t join us in person, check it out streaming live on Local 4+ at 12:30 p.m., and then we’ll have it for you on demand.
