'Detroiters' stars say old local Detroit commercials inspired show

DETROIT – The stars of the Comedy Central show based in Detroit say that local Detroit commercials helped to inspire the show.

"Detroiters" stars Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week.

The duo talked about the local commercials and petty crimes that inspired their comedy series.

They reference the commercials from D.O.C.'s Sexy Specs.

Richardson talks about working at an Outback Steakhouse in Southfield.

Richardson worked there in high school and recalls some customers lying about their steaks.
