‘Jeopardy!’ host Alex Trebek gets choked up after loving message from contestant

“Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek was understandably emotional on the show Monday night after a contestant used their final round answer to send a loving message to the longtime host, who is battling cancer.

Trebek is undergoing his second round of chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer.

A contestant in the “Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions Semi-Finals” lost nearly $2,000, just to offer this message, “What is, We ♥ you, Alex!”

Trebek read out the answer and didn’t seem to register what it said until after he finished reading it saying, “that’s very kind of you thank you. That cost you, $1,995, you’re left with five bucks, okay.”
