This spot wants you to skip the bread on your sandwich

There’s a new style of sandwich in Detroit

Is it a sandwich if it doesn’t have bread? This local eatery says that it is!

The restaurant on East Jefferson is called “Breadless” and it lives up to its name. Founder Marc Howland joined Michelle Oliver to share how they are offering vibrant low-carb meals to Detroiters.

Breadless is a Black-owned Detroit based quick service restaurant that is offering gluten-free sandwiches wrapped in leafy super greens. Marc said they offer a complete range of sandwiches whether you are vegetarian, vegan, keto, or Whole30. They also offer halal options.

Marc said he struggled for many years to find low-carb, and gluten-free options that tasted good. He said Breadless was specifically designed to be a home for the thousands of people like himself, who have been looking for these options.

The restaurant gets their deli meats from Boar’s Head, and the super greens come from local farmers and suppliers. They have a wide assortment of different sandwiches, and you can get any sandwich in a bowl form as well. Marcs favorite sandwich is their Cloud 9 pastrami. Breadless also offers chip options including their Carrot Crisps, Calipop, and Jicama Chips.

Breadless will have their grand opening starting Wednesday, and are open the rest of the week from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be family friendly activities like a ribbon cutting, live music, and giveaways. They will also be launching a catering service.
