Reading month is here

Embrace the magic of literature at this local book store

March is National Reading Month and it’s a great time to transport yourself anywhere you want to go in the world of literature.

Co-owners of Van Dyke Books, Dr. Rhiannon Little-Surowski and Peter Surowski, appeared on “Live in The D” to celebrate the first day of the reading month and share some books that can jump start the month for you.

Van Dyke Books is a bookstore described as “charming and unique” by Dr. Rhiannon Little-Surowski. From children’s reading hours, to family story time, the co-owners love to get involved with their community.

To celebrate the month, Peter Surowski gave his recommendations on books you can start reading this weekend. “A Quantum Love Story” by Mike Chen is one of the books he recommends. He describes it as, “Think ‘Groundhog’s Day’, but with science.” He also recommends “Why People Believe Weird Things” by Michael Shermer, which has a lot to do with critical thinking skills.
