September is often associate with welcoming fall, but it also happens to be National Recovery Month. This is a month dedicate to those on the road to recovery from addiction. It’s something that isn’t always easy, but making it to the end of the road can be life changing. Nicole Gabriel, Interim Director of SUD at Macomb County Mental Health, joined “Live In The D” host Tati Amare to share some things to consider when going through recovery.
First, she spoke to starting the journey. " ... “, said Gabriel.
She also shared things those in recovery can have as part of a tool kit to help them stay on the path. She says having items like Narcan, first-aid, mementos, and support phone numbers can help during difficult times.
When it comes to support, Gabriel says Macomb County Community Mental Health is always available to talk with those in recovery to provide assistance on anyone’s individual journey. You can learn more by clicking here.
