Honking, not using turn signals, and bad lane merges… Is your blood boiling yet?

A discussion on driving etiquette

Whether you’re taking a summer road trip, driving to work, or getting picked up by an Uber or Lyft driver, chances are you’ll be on the road a lot this summer.

Friends of the show — comedian Mike Bonner and April “AP” Lockett, host of “The AP Show” — joined What’s the Buzz on “Live in the D” and shared their driving pet peeves.

“People driving behind me trying to make me go fast - I’m not going any faster - just go around me,” Bonner said.

Blinkers are crucial in communicating to other drivers - where you are going. Some people seem to find this as more of an option rather than a driving requirement.

“People really don’t use their blinkers like that…I use my blinkers,” Lockett said.

Host April Morton asked the group how they handle letting people in front of them in traffic.

Lockett shared that she does her best to be a courteous driver and allows people to get over especially in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Bonner, who said prefers not to speed, did not agree, jokingly saying “No” to letting people merge lanes.

Despite their differences, the group agreed that they all take initiative to be considerate to other drivers, but an indication of a “thank you” or wave is always appreciated.

The group wrapped up with wishing a Happy Birthday to Mike.
