Many people believe the best holiday gifts are handmade, and this November you can find a variety of options at the Royal Oak Market: Art Fair Edition, which is returning for its 10th year.
The event turns the Royal Oak Farmers Market into a festive indoor marketplace filled with artists, live music, food trucks, and craft beverages. It’s part holiday shopping and part date night, where every purchase supports a local artist.
Allison Neal from the Guild of Artists & Artisans and artist Anthony R. Brass appeared on “Live In The D” to highlight the event.
Neal gave some details about what you can expect from the market. She explained there will be 60 artists present and the intimate venue will give guests the opportunity to grab a drink, talk to the artists, and learn about their work. Neal says it’s an indoor space so there’s no need to worry about the weather. The cozy decor and live music are sure to get you in the holiday spirit.
Hosts Tati Amare and Kim DeGiulio had the chance to admire Brass’ artwork and hear about his creative process. Brass explained he gets a lot of inspiration for his work from his house plants, then experiments with the colors and composition to create a unique piece.
“I don’t put limits on myself,” Brass said.
The Royal Oak Market: Art Fair Edition is happening on November 13th and 14th. You can find out more information by watching the video above.
